• Hills of Crosses

Situated in northern Lithuania, near the city of Šiauliai, the Hill of Crosses is the country's premier pilgrimage destination and one of its most bizarre sights. A symbol of the nation's religious devotion, it contains more than 200,000 crosses of various sizes and styles, most of them brought here by the grieving relatives of the dead whose bodies were never found. Rosaries, huge crucifixes, and statues of Virgin Mary also decorate the mysterious hill, which is believed to be a place of miracles.

• Treetop Walking Path in Lithuania

Anykščiai knows how to make visitors feel on top of the world. Not only does it offer long treetop paths that get up close and personal with evergreens, it's also the premier ski resort of Lithuania. Although fair warning, don't expect Alpine giants. It's also home to the Church of Apostle Evangelist St. Matthew, whose silver-topped spires make it the tallest in Lithuania.

• Cathedral

Cathedral square is a wide area passed by hundreds of people every day. In winter you'll find the main Christmas tree and a market here. The main attractions are the bell tower (pro tip: go upstairs and enjoy the view of the Old Town) and, of course, the Cathedral Basilica of St Stanislaus and St Ladislaus of Vilnius, which is the main Roman Catholic cathedral in Lithuania. It goes without saying that Cathedral Church is a must-see, being one the best examples of classicism epoch in Lithuania and has remained in its original look since 1783.
