Flight is done with a flying instructor - we can only take one person up at a time (both aircraft are two seaters)

After a briefing on how the aircraft's controls work, you will be given the opportunity to handle the aircraft in flight under the instructor's supervision

The trial flight lesson counts towards your training should you decide to take it up seriously

Description

The Ikarus C42B is fitted with a ballistic recovery system - basically a parachute for the whole aircraft in case of dire emergency. This is the only aircraft fitted with such a system in Malta being used for flight training!

This air experience flight (or trial flight as it is also known) will see us flying north along either the west or the east coast of Malta after taking off from Malta International Airport's "smaller" runway. Along the rugged west coast at 1500 feet altitude one can take in the views of Ħaġar Qim, Dingli Cliffs, Fomm ir-Riħ, along with the beaches of Ġnejna, Għajn Tuffieħa and Golden Bay, then on to Anchor Bay with Popeye's Village, Ċirkewwa... leading us to Comino and the pristine Blue Lagoon.

Malta's sister island, Gozo, has many beautiful sights varying from beautiful beaches to medieval fortifications to majestic cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean.

Fly over St Paul's Islands via Malta's east coast - Bugibba, St Julian's and Valletta's Grand Harbour before our adventure comes to its reluctant end

After safety, our priority is for you to enjoy the flight as much as possible. Whether you just want to sit back and soak up the experience or take part in the flight is entirely up to you. We will brief you on the aircraft’s controls and instruments, and while your flight instructor will handle the take-off and landing and all radio communications , you will get a chance to practice some basic manoeuvres under his watchful eye.
